There are 181 drawing instruments on Fleaglass at the moment of which 28 are protractors priced between £50 and £1750. There are good English examples from the eighteenth centuries as well as fine examples of French workmanship. They fall into three categories, semicircular, 360 degree and folding arm protactors by English makers such as Cary, Troughton and Simms, W & S Jones, and Elliot Brothers.
